Your Key responsibilities
One focus of the research group "Oncolytic Measles Virus and Vaccine Vectors" in section "Product Testing of IVMPs" is the analysis of the safety, efficacy and mechanisms of vaccines. In the current project, immunogenicity, safety and efficacy of recombinant, vaccine-strain measles virus-derived vectors presenting antigens of other highly pathogenic microorganisms shall be characterized (s. Malczyk et al. 2015; Bodmer et al. 2018). The project will proceed in cooperation with national and international partners.

Our Essential criteria for applying
  • Studies in biology, biochemistry or similar subjects
  • PhD, preferably with a focus on virology, bacteriology or immunology
  • Practical laboratory skills as well as willingness to work in vivo are mandatory
  • Experience with tissue culture, virology, bacteriology, immunology or in vivo experiments is appreciated
  • High interest in vaccinology and/or immunology and biotechnology
  • Willingness to work up to biosafety level 3
  • Willingness and ability to innovate
  • Well structured work style and analytical cognitive abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and like to work in a team

The successful candidate will be employed on an 2-year fixed term contract. Part-time working is possible in principle. The payband is E 13 TVöD (Tarifvertrag für den öffentlichen Dienst, Collective Bargaining Agreement for the Public Service), Part III, No. 12 of Annex 1 of TVEntgO Bund (Tarifvertrag über die Entgeltordnung des Bundes, Collective Bargaining Agreement for the Pay System of the Federal German Public Service). The assignment to a payband is made based on the consideration of your individual professional experience.
