Zahlen für Zitate und Artikel lieferte die Datenbank "Web of Science" des Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) in Philadelphia. Stichtag war der 11. Dezember 2002. Die "Köpfe" arbeiteten zu-mindest während eines Teils des Bewertungszeitraums an einem parasitologischen Institut, publizierten überwiegend in parasitologischen Journals oder arbeiteten vorrangig an eindeutig parasitologischen Projekten. Review-Artikel samt Zitierungen wurden nicht berücksichtigt.
