Berücksichtigt wurden Papers mit Erscheinungsjahr zwischen 2000 und 2003 sowie mindestens einem Autor mit Adresse im deutschen Sprachraum. Die Zahlen für Zitate und Artikel lieferte die Datenbank "Web of Science" des Thomson-Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) in Philadelphia. Stichtag war der 29. März 2006.
Die "Köpfe" arbeiteten während des Bewertungszeitraums an einem pathologischen Institut, publizierten überwiegend in pathologischen Journals oder arbeiteten vorrangig an pathologisch relevanten Projekten.
Wichtig: Fehler, die bereits in den Datenbanken stecken, können wir nur selten erkennen.
