Was denkt wohl der gemeine Forscher, wenn er liest:
… as published in Nature and Science.
Logisch, dass das Zeug in zwei unabhängigen Publikationen veröffentlicht ist — einmal in Nature, und einmal in Science (als Nachfolgestudie oder was auch immer).
Obige Aussage würde indes auch auf das Paper „Studies On A Newly Introduced Drug Acting As Anti-Cancer Initiation Activity“ zutreffen. Doch dieses steht weder in Nature noch in Science, sondern vielmehr in Nature and Science — einer Zeitschrift, die seit 2003 im US-Verlag Marsland Press erscheint.
In den Kommentaren eines Beitrags auf dem Blog Retraction Watch kommt diese Namensgebung allerdings nicht gut weg:
Nature and Science, are you kidding me?! […] Taken from the website of this soon-to-be tiger of scientific publishing, it is allegedly “an international journal to enhance our natural and scientific knowledge spreading in the world under the free publication principle.” Hm… […] This just puts me off, such cheap parasitism on respectable journals,…
…schreibt etwa einer. Während ein weiterer Kommentator den Bogen schon mal weiter spannt:
