Neuroimmunologie
PhD Fellowship (PostDoc position)
We offer a PhD fellowship at the Department of Neurology, Justus-Liebig-University Giessen.
The aims of our projects are to characterize the role of various intracellular proteins that may be involved in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis or in multiple sclerosis.
The following techniques will be applied:
- EAE induction in transgenic mice
- Morphological and immunohistochemical analysis of brain tissue
- Expression analysis of brain tissue (Western Blot, and Real Time T-PCR).
- FACS-analysis of peripheral leucocytes
We expect:
- strong background in immunology and/or cell biology
- interest in animal work and neuropathological analyses
- PhD degree (or Dr. rer. nat.) in biology, biochemistry or a related discipline
- supervision of PhD students
- good communication skills in English
