PhD in Host-Microbial Interactions / Vascular Biology

The Institute of Clinical Biochemistry and Pathobiochemistry at the University Hospital Würzburg invites applications for a PhD position in Host-Microbial Interactions / Vascular Biology (50% TV-L, E13). Aim of the EU funded project is to reveal molecular mechanisms that are triggered by the gut microbiota and contribute to vascularisation of the intestinal mucosa. These mechanisms may be involved in inflammatory bowel disease. During the project we will visit our Swedish collaborators that are experts in germfree mouse technology. The outstanding applicant will work with different mouse models, cell culture, immunohistochemistry, molecular biological and biochemical methods. Applicants should hold a degree in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Molecular Biotechnology or any other related subject. The start date is up to the outstanding applicant, but mobility is certainly a plus and required for the project.

Applications including cover letter, CV, university entrance exam and academic transcripts should be sent to reinhardt@klin-biochem.uni-wuerzburg.de. For reference please name the contact details of your thesis supervisor. Closing date is end of September.
